The evening Yom Kippur service begins with the haunting melody of Kol Nidre played on the cello and piano, and then chanted by the Cantor. These somber rituals and melodies inspire introspection and reflection on our place in life. Perhaps one of the most sacred rituals that take place in a synagogue, Kol Nidre is the only service during which the congregation wears a tallit (prayer shawl).
