The Weight of Memory: I Am Bernie Furshpan follows Dr. Bernie Furshpan, son of Holocaust survivors, as he travels across the country sharing his family’s powerful story to inspire a new generation. Through personal testimony and historical truth, Bernie transforms memory into action, urging young people to reject hate, embrace empathy, and become upstanders. More than a documentary, this is a movement rooted in remembrance, moral clarity, and our shared human origins.

Bernie Furshpan
Dr. Bernie Furshpan, the son of Holocaust survivors, has devoted his life to sharing his family’s story and promoting tolerance. After a diverse career that included chiropractic work, media, and co-owning the original Gotham Comedy Club, he became vice chairman of the Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center of Nassau County, where he educates young people and shares lessons of resilience and humanity, emphasizing that there is only one human race.
