To Paint the Earth

Please join us as we commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising with a live production of “To Paint the Earth.” The musical performance last May at the Museum of Jewish Heritage and features a live orchestra and a cast of 14 Broadway actors including JCOH congregant Lauren Lebowitz.
On the early morning of April 19, 1943, a small band of untrained fighters, using homemade bombs and a few smuggled-in weapons, forced Nazi tanks to turn and retreat. This extraordinary event was to become known as the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising. “To Paint the Earth” weaves together an array of individuals who came together in making the remarkable determination to resist, while also exploring the power of humor, love, and humanity.
