“In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall observe complete rest, a sacred occasion commemorated with loud blasts. You shall not work at your occupations; and you shall bring an offering by fire to the Lord.” – Leviticus 23:24-25. This is one of the Biblical quotes related to Rosh Hashanah. On this day the whole community comes together and marks the beginning of the Jewish Holiday cycle. The shofar is sounded, and we are all called together to prepare for the spiritual cycle of the Jewish holidays, and the Jewish New Year.
