Shabbat on the Beach with Rabbi Leah Berkowitz
July 23, 2021 @ 6:00 pm–7:00 pm
Join us at MAIN BEACH every Friday at 6:00pm
Shabbat on the Beach fuses the experience of spending the summer at the beach with traditional Jewish Shabbat rituals. Find your spot in the sand and join our community in singing, dancing, and celebrating the joys of a magical Shabbat experience.
Please keep your family in one specific area. For your convenience, we have designated areas in the sand for family members of the same household. If you have young children who may want to wander, they should stay the recommended 6 feet apart from other families.
Rabbi Leah Berkowitz is the spiritual leader of Congregation Kol Ami in Elkins Park, PA. Her grandfather, Rabbi Albert Silverman, served as rabbi of Jewish Center of the Hamptons in the late 70s. Rabbi Berkowitz is the Immediate Past President of the Women’s Rabbinic Network. She is a contributor to The Sacred Calling: Four Decades of Women in the Rabbinate (CCAR Press 2016, Winner of the National Jewish Book Award), and the author of two children’s books: The World Needs Beautiful Things (Kar-Ben 2018) and Queen Vashti’s Comfy Pants (Apples and Honey Press 2021). She is currently working on a collection of middle-grade midrash with her friend Erica Wovsaniker (Apples and Honey 2022).
