Same Text Different Meaning: Christian and Jewish Interpretations of Biblical Texts

Last year, Rabbi Joshua Franklin and Very Reverend Denis C. Brunelle explored common ideas between Judaism and Christianity through disparate texts of their faith traditions. This summer, join them as they explore texts that their faith traditions hold in common, yet are interpreted differently. Come learn about new faith perspectives on some of the most important common scripture between Judaism and Christianity.


About Rabbi Joshua Franklin

Rabbi Joshua Franklin joins the Jewish Center of the Hamptons after serving for four years as an Associate Rabbi at Temple Beth Elohim in Wellesley, MA. In his career as a rabbi, he has enlivened the Jewish community by reimagining spirituality through creative mediums. Rabbi Franklin brings to the synagogue setting a passion for music, technology, and creative forms of Jewish education. More >

About Very Reverend Denis C. Brunelle

The Very Rev. Denis C. Brunelle began ministering at St. Luke’s in June of 2009. He was ordained on June 17, 1978 as a Roman Catholic Priest and received as an Episcopal Priest on May 26, 1992. From 1998 until 2006 he served as the rector of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Bay Shore, NY. He then served at the Mercer School of Theology until 2009. Denis is the oldest of five growing up in Manchester, NH. Our rector servied in various capacities and ministries in the Diocese including head of the Diocesan Liturgy and Church Music Commission (1999-2006), served on the Diocesan Commission of Ministry (1999 – 2004).
