Rabbi Jeffrey Salkin

Judaism Beyond Slogans
American Jews use a lot of buzz words to describe their social justice commitments – tikkun olam, God’s image, loving the stranger. What do those terms really mean? Do they really imply that there is only one point of view on those issues? A controversial talk, with a healthy dose of nuance.

Rabbi Jeffrey Salkin
Rabbi Jeffrey Salkin is the rabbi of Temple Israel in West Palm Beach, Florida, and the author of numerous books on Jewish spirituality and ethics, published by Jewish Lights Publishing and Jewish Publication Society. He was one of the first rabbis to earn the Doctor of Ministry degree from Princeton Theological Seminary. His colleagues have called him “an activist for Jewish ideas,” “courageous,” “always relevant,” and “a rabbi’s rabbi.” Rabbi Salkin’s awardwinning blog, “Martini Judaism: for those who want to be shaken and stirred,” is published by the Religion News Service.
